NPE is the big show in the world of plastics. It occurs every three years. The most recent one took place in May in Orlando. Cloeren – a world leader in developing machinery for plastics processing – chose us to design and manage a 70 foot x 40 foot exhibit for their presence at the show. The assignment was interesting. They wanted the space to be dramatic, exclusive and invitation only – meaning partially walled off from the rest of the show. On top of that they wanted the space to be “minimalistic” – lots of open space with very few graphics – and heavy on the hospitality. And, of course, a cost-effective solution for this one-use exhibit was at the top of the requirements list.

You can see our design solution – as well as most of the rest of the convention center – in the amazingly cool drone video above. What you are looking at is a “hybrid exhibit” – featuring a large hospitality lounge and some of Cloeren’s plastic extrusion equipment. It’s made up of a mix of some custom components as well as rental components – primarily aluminum framed wall panels to enclose the space – a solution which helped Cloeren meet all their show goals including their budget goals. .
